You know that photo NASA took back in the ’90s with the Hubble telescope called the Pillars of Creation? Well, that iconic photo was the first photo to get me interested in space. This is my first real attempt photographing the Eagle Nebula, which if you look closely, features the pillars in the center. I ended up shooting this target over 3 nights for a total of just over 10 hours of integration. Not quite government agency from 30 years ago level, but also not bad for a backyard either. I plan on added more data soon.
Lights: 10+ total hours (121 x 300 seconds) of Sii, Ha and Oiiii combined
Darks: 30 x 300 second exposures
30 flat and 30 bias exposures
